Massey Ferguson replaces 1700E and 2700E compact tractors with 1800E and 2800E

Massey Ferguson has announced a new family of open-station compact tractors. The 1800E and 2800E Series will replace the 1700E and 2700E with five models that range from 24 to 57.3 hp.

All five models are powered by Iseki diesel engines. These engines "deliver outstanding fuel efficiency, tremendous power, torque, and reliability. Plus, they are easy to service and maintain," says Jeffrey Ratliff, AGCO tactical marketing manager.

The new tractors also feature up to 18% more hydraulic capacity over previous machines. The dual-pump high-flow system provides more responsive power at low engine speeds, allowing farmers to throttle back to reduce noise, while maintaining full steering and implement function and control.

This increased hydraulic capacity along with four-wheel drive, and cast steel rear end and front axle, make the machines capable of transporting round bales, skidding logs, or moving heavy bulk material. The hood and fenders are made of solid metal for durability. A number of attachments and accessories designed for livestock producers, property owners, and hobby farms are also available.

"The E Series tractors are powerful, easy to operate, and offer a down-to-earth price that will appeal to budget-minded customers," says Ratliff.

The new series of tractors are standard equipped with 8F×8R Synchro Shuttle transmission. This mechanical-gear transmission provides a range of working and transport speeds between 0.8 and 16.6 mph, depending on tire size and type. This transmission style works well for tasks such as mowing or rotary tilling where consistent working speeds must be maintained. The tractors’ forward/reverse shuttle shift provides the easy direction changes necessary for loader work.

A three-range hydrostatic transmission may be ordered as an option. This feature allows the operator to reach the desired speed within each range without shifting gears.

The smaller, 1800E models offer a Category I rear three-point hitch.

The 1825E is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.49-liter, three-cylinder engine producing 24 hp.

The 1835E and the 1840E feature a turbocharged 1.83-liter, three-cylinder engine. The 1835E has up to 34.5 hp., while the 1840E has 39.4 hp.

The larger chassis 2800E models feature a Category I/II three-point hitch with up to 2,425-pound lift capacity. This provides compatibility with loader and backhoe implements for some models.

Both the 2850E and 2860E are equipped with 2.43-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines, providing 48.8 and 57.3 engine horsepower, respectively.
